Four charged in alleged underage drinking party in Castle Hayne | News

CASTLE HAYNE, NC (WECT) - Four people from the Castle Hayne area of New Hanover County have been charged after a house party in September ending with a double stabbing.

According to a release, the New Hanover County Sheriff's Office called ALE officers for assistance at a party on Sidbury Road around 1 a.m. on September 22nd. Deputies were issuing citations to sixteen people for underage consumption.

Witnesses said up to 200 people were at the party in an abandoned house, ranging in ages from 16 to 55 years old. Cups of beer were sold for $3 each, according to the release. There were also several kegs taken. Two people were stabbed, but both were released from the hospital after treatment.

ALE says four people have been charged in this investigation.

Christopher Gardner, 18 from Rocky Point, faces sixteen counts of aiding and abetting an underage person.

Christopher Craven, 19 from Riegelwood, is charged with sixteen counts of aiding and abetting an underage person and a count of selling alcohol without obtaining a permit and license.

Barbara Thompson, 24 from Rocky Point, is charged with sixteen counts of aiding and abetting an underage person and a count of selling alcohol with a permit and license.

Barbara McCoy, 39 from Rocky Point, is charged with sixteen counts of aiding and abetting an underage person and a count of selling alcohol without a permit and license.

More arrests could come in the future, according to the release.
