WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - When you equal a record that was set by Hall of Famer Michael Jordan, people tend to notice.
ESPN certainly has.
Laney senior Elijah Wilson has been recognized as ESPN High School's Southeast Region Player of the Week after scoring 42 points in a quadruple-overtime win against New Bern on February 13th. The 42 points tied the Laney program record which was established by Michael Jordan on Valentines Day of 1980 when the Buccaneers defeated Eastern Wayne.
To make the night even more special, after the game Wilson gave a commitment to the College of Charleston.
