NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) — Cape Fear Public Utility Authority announced Thursday that its Utility Services Collection System and its Pump Station Operation and Maintenance Division have been certified as an ISO 14001 Environmental Management System (EMS).

In 2008, the company reportedly began to establish the EMS, which is a set of procedures that allow an organization to analyze, control and reduce the environmental impact of its activities, products and services.

Dale Greer of AQA International, LLC performed the audit for CFPUA. “After 15 years of environmental audits, this program is one of the best environmental programs I have ever seen,” he said in a news release statement.
