WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The boating access area at Sutton Lake will be closed down temporarily starting next Monday for a facelift, according to the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission.
The changes include two new boat ramps with courtesy docks, a new handicap-accessible fishing pier, parking changes, solar lighting and more signage.
The spot will be closed until February next year.
Sutton Lake is 1,110 acres large. It provides cooling water for Duke Energy's L.V. Sutton Energy Complex. It's located off US Highway 421 at the end of Sutton Steam Plant Road.
