GE makes record contribution to the United Way campaign | Community

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – GE Hitachi Nuclear Energy and GE Aviation raised more than $534,000 for this year's United Way of the Cape Fear Area campaign – setting a new record.

"GE Hitachi and GE Aviation are honored to be long-time partners with the United Way of the Cape Fear Area, and this year's record contribution from our employees is a true testament of our commitment to the community," said Caroline Reda, President and CEO, GEH in a press release.

GE's contributions represent about 25 percent of the United Way campaign's total budget.

"Our annual fundraising campaign was a huge success, and each of our employees played a part in helping to exceed our goal. GE is excited to support our local United Way chapter and the work it does in the area we have called home for more than 40 years," said Reda.

The funds will go to local charities selected by the United Way of the Cape Fear Area.
