NEW HANOVER and PENDER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – If you’re looking for a way to help out the community, look no further -- part of Poplar Grove Plantation is undergoing some construction, but help from the public is needed.
According to Poplar Grove’s website, the Manor House is being restored. So far, wallpaper and walls have been taken down, paint is going up, mantels have been stripped and more.
But there’s a lot of work still left to do, like cleaning floors and polishing brass, and the house is set to reopen March 4.
If you have the time, you’re asked to come help with the process. Volunteers of all skill levels are welcome.
You don’t even need to call in advance – you can simply show up with your own tools or use the plantation’s.
Poplar Grove is located at 10200 U.S. 17.
