WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Some of our local heroes will hit the ice for an annual charity game.
The Wilmington Police Department and New Hanover County Sheriff’s Office will take on the Wilmington Fire Department and EMS on Feb. 23.
Officers and deputies will face off against firefighters and emergency officials in an ice hockey game at the Wilmington Ice House.
All proceeds will benefit the Wilmington Fallen Firefighter Memorial Fund.
Tickets are $5 and can be purchased at the door. You can also buy tickets in advance by contacting the Wilmington Police Department. Just ask for Officer Peter Schwarz.
The Wilmington Ice House is located 7201 Ogden Business Lane in Wilmington.
T-shirts will also be sold for $15 at the hockey game.
There will be food, fun and music at the event. Wilmington Pipes and Drums as well as the Wilmington Fire Department Honor Guard will perform before and during the game.
People are welcome to a public skate session after the game from 7:15 p.m. to 10 p.m.
Skate rental is $3 and the skate session is $7.
The charity game starts at 6:45 p.m.
