Donate used eyeglasses to benefit those in need | Community Spirit

NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Port City Eye will soon celebrate its fifth year anniversary in the Porters Neck area.

The locally owned eye doctor office will host a benefit for the Lions Club of Wilmington as a way to give back to the community.

The Lions Club collects donated glasses and redistributes them to the needy around the world. To help their efforts, Port City Eye will collect eyeglasses during the week of October 15-19.

Anyone who donates glasses during this week will be entered into a drawing to win a free pair of sunglasses from the Port City Eye office. Donors will also receive 35% off a complete pair of prescription eyeglasses or prescription sunglasses.

Monetary donations for the Lions Club will also be accepted during this event with 100% of the donations benefiting the Lions Club.
