CFCC Foundation surpasses $1.2 million fundraising goal

CFCC Foundation surpasses $1.2 million fundraising goal

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – One out of every seven residents of New Hanover and Pender counties has taken a class at Cape Fear Community College in the past year, and more than two-thirds of CFCC’s nearly 30,000 students require some kind of financial assistance, according to a news release from CFCC.

More financial aid is now available for those students thanks to the CFCC Foundation, which raised more than $1.3 million for student scholarships and academic program support.

“I am thrilled to say that we surpassed our fund-raising goal of $1.2 million, which was set by our Board of Directors at the beginning of the 2011-12 budget year,” stated Margaret Robison, executive director of the CFCC Foundation, in a statement. “We are touched by the ongoing efforts of individuals, corporations, foundations and civic organizations who continue to invest in our students.”
