WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – A unique student project will be auctioned off tomorrow at CFCC’s North Campus in Castle Hayne.

Students in CFCC’s carpentry program built a 1,000 square-foot home, located at 2210 Sidbury Road. The students worked on the home three semesters and finished it earlier this summer.

The exterior of the house is planked with cedar siding and has a large front porch. Interior features include three bedrooms, two full baths, and a roughed in mechanical system including an installed evaporator, duct system and condenser. The house meets the rough in requirements of the New Hanover Building Inspectors.

Proceeds of the sale will go back into the carpentry program, which gives students  hands-on training in residential construction.
