NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) — It's time again to Fill the Boot for the Wilmington Fire Department.

According to a news release from county officials, firefighters will be at assorted locations throughout New Hanover County on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., and they are asking you to be generous with your dollars and loose change by filling up their boots with donations.

The money raised will go towards the Muscular Dystrophy Association, which is a nonprofit group aimed to cure muscular dystrophy.

Firefighters will be at the following locations this year

  • Castle Hayne Road/N. Kerr Avenue
  • U.S. Hwy 421 North/Isabella Holmes Bridge
  • Holly Shelter Road/Castle Hayne Road
  • Porter's Neck Road/Market Street (Porter's Neck Harris Teeter)
  • Market Street/Gordon Road
  • Murrayville Road/N. College Road
  • South College Road/Entrance to Chick-fil-A (Monkey Junction)
  • Carolina Beach Road/Antoinette Road
  • Carolina Beach Road/Sanders Road (Beau Rivage Market Place)

Last year, more than $32,000 was raised.
